guess the tv theme
Not sure why I woke up thinking of this TV show theme song.
…Now you probably have it stuck in your head too.
There's a change in the status quo.
Gonna need all the help that we can get.
According to our new arrival,
Life is more than mere survival.
And we just might live the good life yet.

Does American Idol have a theme song?
I'm thinking the era of theme songs and jingles has passed. It seems like shows today either use a short musical beat or they choose a popular song to use in their title sequence.
The theme song I quoted in the original post is from Mr Belvedere. Thanks to youtube, I found a clip of the title sequence and a clip of the Family Guy referring to the title sequence.
Wow. Mr. Belvedere? I haven't thought about that show in...I guess since it was last on the air. Is it even in syndication any more?
Speaking of shows I haven't thought of in 15 years, I found this one the other day. You probably haven't seen it, but there's a guy on Men in Trees who I could remember played a bully in some show, but I couldn't remember which. Thanks to IMDB, I found it. Check it out.
